Weekly Review: On the Upswing
So far, I've been much more on top of my work than I was before. When it came to commenting, I was surprised by how much I learned from the writings of my peers this week. They pointed out a lot of things I hadn't thought of, and had unique perspectives that I didn't necessarily agree with, but it's good to understand other people's points of view and the way their analyses are different than mine. Also, they noticed many literary devices that I hadn't thought about, which helped me learn how to recognize them myself and be more aware when they make an appearance. Another thing that was useful to me was editing my project. I became more aware of when I'm actually making my points clear, or when I'm just summarizing without including my own thoughts.
My other classes are going really well, making more time for this class hasn't changed my performance in my other classes at all. In fact, I actually did better on my most recent midterm compared to the first one in my Psychology of Human Sexuality class. This gives me hope and motivates me to continue finishing my assignments. I would like to improve on my timeliness, because I find it difficult to work unless I have the pressure of a looming deadline and that's probably unhealthy because of the stress it causes me. In the upcoming week, I really want to get my work done earlier, just so I have everything out of the way. This could leave me more room for other things in my life that would probably help me a lot with my mental wellness. There are elements of stress in my life that I can't control, so I should be putting more effort into taming the elements that I can control, to minimize the impact it has on my academic performance.
