My own room is my favorite place.
It may sound lame or depressing to some, but my favorite place is my own bedroom. I've traveled a bit, maybe not as much as some, but enough to know that I don't get the same enjoyment out of it that most people do. Seeing canyons, waterfalls, forests, etc. has been pretty underwhelming for me, and the long trip to go see these things did little more than waste time that I could've been spending comfortably in my room, doing something I actually enjoy. I'd previously thought that this made me an introvert, because many people told me that's what I was, but when I thought about the true definition of an introvert I found that I didn't agree. Introverts prefer to keep their social interactions to a minimum, and staying indoors is simply their means to that end. I don't stay inside to avoid the people outside, I just like my room too much to leave it.

I attached this link because I couldn't find any stock photos of bedrooms that looked like mine, but the fact that I think all of the bedrooms listed on this site are horrible further solidifies that I'm not an introvert.
Hey Veronica! I couldn't agree with you more. My room is seriously my most comforting setting and favorite place to be. I could lay in bed all day and be completely content with it. I'm quite the opposite though when you said you don't stay inside to avoid people. I am not the very social type so I prefer to lay in bed. Great post though! I feel like we can relate.
ReplyDeleteHello Veronica!
ReplyDeleteI guess there is that saying that there is no place like home, or in your case, your bedroom specifically! I don't think its too weird that you like being in your bedroom a lot because we spend many hours sleeping in their and it seems like that became your comfort zone. No matter what, we can always find comfort in our own bedroom. I like staying at home too and I don't get out too much but I do like to visit some places whenever I get the chance but sometimes on my days off, I'm just content to stay at home and relax!
Hi Veronica , I love how you embrace who you are. I too love relaxing, reading, watching TV, and snuggling with family in my room. However, I also love being out and experiencing the unknown. I love getting out on a nice sunny day and allow the sun to illuminate my soul. We are all so different and the key is embracing and being true to your authentic self. Enjoyed your blog.
ReplyDeleteHey Veronica!
ReplyDeleteI love being in my bedroom too!
It is the most comfortable place to be and I am glad that someone shares the sentiment. I think too often people get so caught up in where they want to be that the neglect where they are. I look forward to more of your work.
I totally relate to this, my room, especially my bed, is probably my favorite place, too. It’s funny, though, I’m actually a complete introvert. It’s not that I love my room and spending time in it like you do, but that it just brings me a sense of safety. Leaving my room is quite tiring and stressful, but I actually don’t like being confined to it aside from the feeling of comfort and familiarity it brings me. However, you don’t have to be an introvert to just enjoy the peace of having your own space and it’s cool that you recognize that yourself.
